They started their career together in 2013, performing at many Tango Shows in Buenos Aires. Guillermo Merlo is a true legend in the world of Argentine tango. He has a realization of over 30 years of outstanding experience in Argentine Tango. Mariela Franganillo is an internationally known performer, choreographer, and instructor. Mariela’s creativity, her dance versatility and her embellishments are among the characteristics that distinguish her unique tango style. Her performances have been seen worldwide on-stage Broadway’s Forever Tango and she performed at New York’s Town Hall, at Carnegie Hall, and at Lincoln Center in productions including Tribute to Paquito De Rivera with Pablo Ziegler, Eternal Tango, XTango, Avantango, and on tour with Julio Iglesias. George and Jairelbhi Furlong born to an Argentinean family, Tango was a presence in George’s life since his early childhood. Thanks to a highly musical family, he started his musical training at age 10 and continued through high school and college.
A native of Caracas, Venezuela, Jairelbhi began her dance training at age 9, joining Las Voces Blancas, one of the top dance schools for children in the country. Because of her graceful movements and perseverance, she became part of the school’s dance troupe, making television performances and traveling frequently. READ MORE
John Turci-Escobar has DJ’d in milongas, marathons, and festivals since 2009, and is honored and thrilled to participate in the first San Antonio Tango Festival (SATF). He teaches at The University of Texas at Austin’s Butler School of Music, and holds a Ph.D in music theory from Yale University. READ MORE
